installation

During the art residency program at Foundation House in Greenwich, Connecticut in November 2024, Revan Karaca created an immersive art installation that delved into themes of legislative violence and political conflict. The installation featured two new paintings from her series POLITICS, displayed within a spacious room decorated with design furniture that evoked the atmosphere of a parliamentary chamber. Scattered papers, containing information about the paintings, were caught in mid-air, adding to the sense of chaos. The sound of a haka song, recorded during a demonstration in Māori just one day before the exhibition, filled the room. The installation sought to offer viewers a visceral experience of the intense dynamics within a legislative setting, encouraging them to reflect on the power struggles and conflicts that unfold in such environments.
